John Hahn, Classical Piano
New York based pianist ,John Hahn has performed as a soloist in United States, Czech Republic, and Mexico. He appeared on stages in Steinway Hall, Weill Hall, Instituto Superior de
Musica, Tlaqna Hall in Xalapa, Mexico, Brevnov Monastery and Bertramka in Prague, Czech Republic.
As a young artist, he won many awards from various competitions including the Five Towns Piano Competition, The Prague International Piano Festival Competition, MSM Concerto
Competition, and the Esperanza Cruz International Piano Competition. John has also participated in master classes with many eminent pianist, including Ivan Moravec, Tamas Vasary, Claudio
Mendez, Oxana Xablonskaya, Phillipe Entremont, and Jorge Frederico Osorio.
John is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree of Musical arts from Manhattan School of Music, studying under Phillip Kawin and received the Vera Blacker Piano Scholarship. John is also a former student of the late Zenon Fishbein who was also a professor at Manhattan School of Music.
John is not only a performer but is also an instructor of piano. John has taught Keyboard classes at the Manhattan School of Music College Division as a Teaching Fellow during his doctoral coursework studies and also as a Teacher’s Assistant in Mannes School of Music ( The New School). John has also been selected to be part of the precollege piano faculty at Queens College ( CUNY-ECSM). In the 2024-2025 season, John's students have performed in eminent venues such as Bruno Walter Auditorium ( Lincoln Center) and Weill Hall ( Carnegie Hall) and won numerous prizes in the International Clara Schumann Competition, New York Artist International Competition, and Korean Youth Society Honors Competition.
As of most recent, John participated in a piano residency at the Banff Performing Arts Center in Canada as well as performing Beethoven Piano Concerto no.5 with the Bergen Symphony Orchestra in Leonia.
